Did anyone try these cold soups by T. Susan Chang? I have been an embarrassing pool o’drool over the concept of Fresher than Fresh Snowcones (I mean, agave hibiscus, espresso and mexican cane sugar? YUM!), but as I have no snowcone access, I resign myself to other summer-colored concoctions.
The berry soup looks like something I would whip up as a smoothie, but the cold zucchini soup intrigues me. Cue hands-together slow meeting of fingers. Yes, yes…
Okay, my angle is less diabolical epicurean and more “dear GOD, a zucchini geyser just erupted in our garden–what to do?” And in this weather (even at today’s 85 degrees, thank you), baking is Right Out. T. Susan is usually right on, and how can you not trust someone who’s name is so cool, she can pull off a first-initial-middle name? In what dark alley would you doubt this coolness? Hey, what are you doing in dark alleys?
Off to immersion blend.
J. Lynn (eck, too close to unfortunate)
