Is there anything left to invent, pt. 2
My friend, Jennifer, has a post called “Is there anything left to invent?” for a seatbelt product called–get this–the Tiddy Bear. I have another one to add to the list: The Chococlock.
From the website:
“This stylish retro-modern timepiece is a bit like a cuckoo clock but when its shutters open, on the hour every hour, [...]
Wow!
We have 8 of these…I can’t believe it! There are a type of Kabocha squash–I’m not sure what is up with the oblong shape–maybe they eventually flatten out? Or maybe this is what Missouri summers do to squash? Either way, we’re so happy…if only fall weren’t early this year. Figures!
Oh, and there are two [...]
Today
No canning today, just picking fruit from our grape tree.
Love these rings
Enamel Ring/Pink Disc
From Genevieve Flynn’s Etsy site. I am biased–she runs the studio I play in and I take classes from her, but I just love these rings! The enamel rings are my favorite right now, but I think it’s because of all the mod jewelry that’s out there. I am so [...]
Why so quiet
Canned 12 quarts over the weekend…many more to go! Maybe I’ll just dry the rest of the tomatoes.

The berry soup looks like [...]
Lately
Oh friends, it’s been to hot of late to do much of anything except drink watermelon smoothies and watch the thermometer rise. But visitors are always a welcome distraction; even ones who tolerate your lack of Pokemon knowledge.
More Bezel Practice
It is far too hot to travel anywhere within the city comfortably, so I am at home, practicing my metalsmithing skills. I can’t say it goes well, but I feel busy, at least.
Some activities to contemplate, once it cools off a bit:
August film series (various locations)
The latest textile exhibit at the Nerman Museum

Good Coffee
If you’re in the Northland, I highly recommend Espresso dell’Anatra. I judge everything by the breve. They make a fantastic breve, and my husband can attest to their mochas. All their dairy comes from Shatto Milk Farm, their coffee from PT’s.
My favorite Kansas City coffee is a breve from Westport Coffeehouse. [...]
