The Shabby Chic of the Flower World

Aren’t peonies luscious? I came into work this morning and found my workspace adorned with a huge vase of these lovely, floppy skirts. And the smell…not overpowering like lilies can be, but rather, more rose-like, vegetative scent. Does that make sense? If it does, you should be wary–I don’t have much [...]

Naturally Delicious!

Can I just complain really quick and say, Flickr, you sometimes suck. I am working on my flickr account–trying to make it more manageable for people who visit (over 10,000 photos, oye…the power of the uploader). At any rate, I mass-changed the privacy on my photos, which changed the URLs for image source, [...]

Garden is growing…

Garden is growing, growing, growing…
But, life in my family is contracting a bit…maybe growing emotionally. I found out earlier this month that someone in the family is getting divorced. Maybe. Likely.
Oye. These things are difficult–I wish them a speedy process and hopefully a healthy post-divorce relationship. That might mean no [...]

Naturally Local’s Grand Opening

Whoo–hooo! Excelsior Springs has a local food grocery store? They are so lucky–the old downtown of ES is starting to look most attractive.
It looks like Sage Moon Naturals will be there at their Grand Opening this weekend. The store calls their weekly farmer meetings, “Meet the Farmers.” Yes, but doesn’t that [...]

Color Couture

We went to the Color+Couture fashion show yesterday. Area builders and architects form teams that design couture out of building materials (tile, astroturf, vinyl…). The fashion show is a fundraiser for Synergy Services. This is the first year they’ve sold out in tickets–way to go!
It was great fun, I have some photos [...]

School’s out for summer…
