Garden Update

All that aside, I feel pretty blessed with some new additions to the food-family:

Paw paw trees (this on had a break, but it is so young and tiny, it healed on its own once outside)

Apple trees! We bought two–hope to buy more as we make decisions about some of the maple saplings and soil quality. Yummy…

Okay, this isn’t exciting, but our cistern is full–will be good for general watering, but I’m a bit cautious using long-standing water for food plants–especially greens. This water will be for shrubs and flowers.
Other new items: 6 blackberry plants, 4 raspberry, escarole, kale and 6 forsythia bushes along the road. I have to say, we are investing quite a bit this spring on permanent plantings. It of course coincides with the fact that our long-standing, wonderful neighbors are moving, and that there is someone from down the road who likes to walk her dog THROUGH our yard and lets him chase our cats. So…who wants to move to those 30 acres? Me, me me me me! That won’t happen anytime soon, so it’s an ugly fence for us.

Last but not least, refinishing the kitchen cabinet doors. This only took me, oh, 3 winters
What are your spring projects?
